Shell size typical for genus, adult size up to ca. 13 mm; fusiform, elongate. Suture straight. Protoconch paucispiral, -1.75 smooth whorls. Teleoconch of 6.25-6.5 whorls. Axial sculpture absent. Spiral sculpture of basal cords, ventrally ranging to adapical edge of columella. Outer lip thickened, smooth, bearing only continuation of basal cords. Inner lip denticulate, with five equally spaced denticles of roughly equal size. Columellar callus thickened, with slightly raised rim. Parietal callus very weak. Columella with seven denticles. Siphonal canal short, open, straight. Teleoconch whorls off-white in colour, with yellowish-brown sinuous axial lines on later whorls, occasionally interrupted near shoul¬der of final whorl. Upper whorls ofT-white. Some shells entirely white. Protoconch off-white. Aperture and columella off-white. Operculum typical of genus, light brown, semi-translucent, with terminal nucleus. Holotype height 11.0 mm.

One of the most widely distributed species within New Caledonia: Coral Sea, Grand Passage, south of Grande Terre, and Loyalty Ridge, 270-525 m, alive in 310-470 m.
