Description

Shell size typical for genus, adult size up to ca. 12.3 mm; fusiform, elongate. Suture straight. Protoconch paucispiral, -1.5 smooth whorls. Teleoconch of 5.5-6 whorls. Axial sculpture absent. Spiral sculpture of basal cords, ventrally ranging to adapical edge of columella. Outer lip slightly thickened, smooth, bearing only continuation of basal cords. Inner lip denticulate, with eight denticles, diminishing in strength abapically, with second and third denticles closer than the other denticles. Columellar callus thickened. Parietal callus very weak. Columella with seven denticles. Siphonal canal long, open, straight. Teleoconch whorls off-white in colour, occasionally with pattern of pale brown axial lines on lower whorls. Protoconch off-white. Aperture and columella off-white. Holotype height 10.2 mm.

Interchangeable taxa

This species is similar to Mitrella angustalineata n. sp., but differs in its smaller teleoconch, number and position of denticles in the inner lip, longer siphonal canal and narrower, more elongate aperture.
