Description

Distribution: NE Atlantic: Iceland, Bay of Biscay, NW Morocco (WAR£N, 1992), Rockall and Hatton Banks (HOFFMAN ET AL. 2010), Azores, SASC (DAUTZENBERG, 1927 and this study), 593-2102 m.
Remarks: The shell of Akritogyra similis has straight growth lines and lip and a smooth surface of whorls. The Mediterranean species A. conspicua (Monterosato, 1880) is similar but has a smaller proto-conch and teleoconch (WAREN, 1992).
