Description

Description: Shell to 7 mm. Equivalve. Inequilateral, beaks towards the anterior. Outline subovate. posteriorly subrostrate; posterior dorsal margin almost straight, gently sloping; posterior margin narrow, truncate slightly auriculate. Sculpture in 3 parts: anterior area demarcated by a low radial rib and with 2 - 3 faint riblets all slightly nodulose at intersections with concentric lines; median area with widely spaced oblique lines; posterior area weakly sulcate, 2 posterior dorsa ribs, 1 riblet in sulcus and 2 ribs at junction with median area all with erect widely spaced scales. Hinge with numerous small teeth in two series. Ligament internal. Colour white, only dead shells seen.
