Description

Rissopsetia hummelencki Faber, 1984 Distribution: Texas; Cayman Islands. Size: 2 mm
Description: Color yellowish-white; shape elongate-cylindrical; sculpture of shouldered whorls; closely spaced axial ribs that are slightly angled; sutures deep; protoconch heterostrophic, immersed; aperture subquadrate; columella slightly turned.
Habitat: Muddy sand to a depth of about 1.5 m (5 ft).
Remarks: In Texas has been found in the Lower Laguna Madre and Matagorda Bay. See Ode (1993d); Ode and Calnan (1993).
