Source: Angas, 1867. Descriptions of thirty-two species of marine shells from the coast of New South Wales. (Original description)
Shell to 25.0 mm in length, elongate-ovate, teleoconch of 5-6 convex or weakly sub¬angulate whorls, protoconch of 1.5-2.0 globose embryonic whorls. Sculptured with irregular, primary and occasionally secondary spiral threads which number 4-8 on the penultimate whorl (4-6 primary and 0-3 secondary threads) and 15-32 on the body whorl; the spiral cords are sometimes alternating with smaller, intermediate spiral threads, but in other individuals only primary, equal-sized spirals are present. Axial sculpture is variable and consists of weak or strong, irregular longitudinal threads which are either confined to the interspaces or prominently override cords and form nodules upon the summits. Aperture equal in height to or longer than the spire, narrow, smooth within, columella narrowly calloused basally in adults and with 3-4 folds. White, cream to fawn in color, some specimens with a central brown band on body whorl and occasionally with reddish-brown streaks on spire whorls or even small spots on the spiral cords; aperture white in adult specimens but brownish or pinkish-brown in immature individuals.
