Description

This is a very wide mitrid (W/L = 0.42) with a straight-sided spire that is shorter than the aperture (S/A = 0.74). There are 6 or 7 convex teleoconch whorls with a suture made prominent by the convex shoulder. The dorsal notch is quite prominent. The fasciole projects somewhat with 3 spiral, convex, closely spaced cords. Sculpture on the penultimate whorl consists of three convex-topped spiral cords separated by about half their diameter and a narrower subsutural cord. Whorls and their interstices are crossed by narrow axial riblets. Earlier whorls are similar. On the body whorl the cords continue to the fasciole becoming narrower with wider interstices. The outer Hp is thin and convex from the suture to the rounded transition to the anterior canal. The aperture is moderately narrow, gradually increasing in width from the suture to near the anterior tip. The columella is straight with four significant, low, spiral folds and the callus is narrow and slightly raised . The parietal wall is more or less convex. Exterior color is orange with rectangular white spots on top of spiral cords. The aperture interior is light orange.
