Description

Described in French (click French flag)

Additional Description: Shell inéquivalve, slightly inequilateral, slightly broader than high, left valve more convex than right and smaller in size, fragile and translucent. Auricles unequal. Well developed byssal notch, with ctenolium. Sculptured with approximately 20 radial lines of small scales, interconnected by numerous concentric nets; the entire surface of the valves is covered with very fine radial and divergent striae.
Size: Normal adult size range is 4 to 6 mm.

Distribution

Reported from the Philippines, Indonesia, New Caledonia, Norfolk Island, the Red Sea, and the
Transkei shelf of South Africa.
Habitat: Sublittoral zone to deep water, fine muddy and sandy bottoms with gravel.
