Type locality: Curacao.
The shell has 3 nuclear and 7,5 postnuclear whorls. There are 3 spiral cords, the upper one with a much smaller diameter than the other two; crossed by many ribs, forming beads, base somewhat concave, bordered by a spiral cord, with 3 to 5 spiral threads and transverse striae. Not umbilicated. From shallow water several specimens collected. The species differs from M. barbadensis by being much slenderer, having the lip not produced and by having a somewhat different sculpture.
