Description

Protoconch of 3 smooth whorls; teleoconch with a subsutural groove, and spiral cords that override the axial ribs on the base of the last whorl, but appear only in the rib intervals on the upper part. Colour pattern of brown lines encircling oval whitish blotches all over the shell. A spiral band on middle of body whorl is paler to whitish, but not always present. Length varies from 2,2 to 3 mm.
Empty shells found in hand-dredged sand from 12-90 m, and sometimes living under stones at 12 m; also dredged in 90-215 m by Marion-Dufresne expedition; 1 empty shell in 800-825 m. Common on Reunion.
