Description

Shell moderate in size, biconic fusiform, spire and aperture sub-equal in length, with exposed mamillate protoconch. Spire having four subsutural bands with orange quardrate markings and three or four delicate ridges in a space of subsutural bands. Middle zone separated by a groove under subsutural band and ancillid groove. Ground color of shell yellowish gray, fasciolar band and ancillid band spacedly pale orange. Columella white, pillar twisted with 4-5 folds. Aperture wide, whitish gray within. Outer lip thin, simple. Siphonal canal deep. Length 15.0 mm; Width 5.7 mm; Aperture 7.4 mm.

Interchangeable taxa

This new species is very close to Amalda (Alcospira) aureus Ninomiya, 1990, but differs in having short spire and spiral ridges on the penultimate whorl.
