Description

Shell length to 140 mm; almost round, smooth and shiny. Sculpture: microscopic concentric and radial striae. Colour: left valve deep pink, with concentric bands of red-brown varying in width, with some random spotting of the same colour; umbones paler with some white spotting; interior white, external colour shows at the margins; right valve white with random brown spotting externally; interior white. Habitat: sand, to 18 metres. Distribution: appears to have a disjunct distribution, from the Great Australian Bight to south Western Australia as far north as Carnarvon, and from Newcastle, New South Wales to north Queensland.
