Description

Shell quite small, thin and white, not opaque, subiridescent, patelliform, oblong, elevated, broadly rounded at the ends and subparallel on the sides; apex situates at nearly the posterior fourth of the length of shell, thus the anterior slope being decidedly longer than the posterior and strongly convex, the posterior nearly straight; nucleus smooth, subspiral and depressed, lateral slopes compressed; radial striae superficially weak, only observable between the concentric rugae which are very conspicuous, separated by broader interstitial grooves which form somewhat regular and wavy plicae; inside of the shell white with a thin subiridescent callus, margin simple but not very sharp. Height 1.4mm., length of the aperture 3.3mm., breadth of it 2.2mm.

Interchangeable taxa

C. cingulata Schepman from the Moluccas may be the most closely related species, but the present new form may be easily distinguished by the much narrower shell and more elevated and much posteriorly situated apex.
