Description

The genus Takirossoina is a western to central Pacific group characterized by a slender shell, weakly incrassate labrum, and a whorl profile that is weakly convex, but weakly concave just below the suture. Two Recent species, Takirossoina japonica (Weinkauff, 1881), a species without planktotrophic development, and T. crocata n. sp., a smaller species with planktotrophic development, are the only species known so far.
