Paleontology

Range —Pliocene of Sumatra and Java, Indonesia.
Powell, A.W.B., 1969.The family Turridae in the Indo-pacific. Part 2: The subfamily Turriculinae.

Description

This subspecies differs from the Recent typical species in having both the axial and the spiral sculpture much stronger. There is a prominent subsutural fold, which is crenulated, and the short, very oblique peripheral axials are not only strong on the spire-whorls but persist over most of the body-whorl. In the typical species the subsutural fold is weak and the axials are confined to the early post-nuclear whorls.
