Description

Shell greyish brown, small, acuminate. Spire approximately three-quarters the length of shell. Whorls are flatly convex and granulated in four concentric rows of decussating sculpture. Body-whorl exhibiting the same feature except at the lower portion where the granules become less conspicuous. Interior brown, polished. Aperture ovate; outer lip sharp; anterior canal short, fairly wide. Size: 1 inch.

Interchangeable taxa

A very acuminate shell and easy to recognize by its strong granulate ornament. In living condition, generally located on weedy sandbanks.
