Distribution

A relatively common species. The color goes from dirty white to very dark, almost black. But the very large majority of shells are greyish in coloration. There are no reds as in some other Pupa-species. In the Philippines we know of material from Bohol, Cebu, the Cuyo Islands, Leyte, Mactan, Malapascua, Masbate, Olango, Palawan, Pandanon, Surigao. Outside the Philippines, the species is known from Australia (Queensland), China, Fiji, New Caledonia, Indonesia, Kenya, Madagascar, Malaysia, the Maldives, Reunion, Samoa, the Seychelles, South Africa, Tanzania and Vietnam. Curiously, the species is well treated in the literature, in contrast to most other "Pupa", determinations are not so correct.
