Taxonomic system administrators can now access function "Check-list actions" which allows them to add species to check-lists. If the species is present in a check-list representing some country, it is now listed on a Taxon profile page. It is possible either to add checklists one by one, or add taxon to multiple check-lists at once, using the "Add multiple records" link in "Check-list actions" function. It is possible to write country names separated by comma (or each country on separate line), for example "Uganda, Somalia, Tanzania, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, South Africa" and sending the form will display a preview of check-lists into which species will be included. If some country is not found by its name or the species is already in the list, warning is displayed and record is ignored. You can check the "Mark country list as complete" checkbox if the list of countries in which species is distributed is complete. Than just uncheck the "Preview" box and send the form again, result will look like this:
Compsomera nigricollis. The check-list names will be visible in every language version of BioLib, unlike when distribution is in text only (but the Distribution text can be more detailed, such as "South Africa (Natal)" instead of just "South Africa".
Also it is possible to link check-list data to a citation - either text citation or a record from database of link and literature. There can be more than one citation to each check-list record. Citation can be either added manually, or you can send me larger lists for import. Same with citations of valid names. A simple Excel file with scientific name and authority as used in source will usually be all I need for import.
In near future I want to implement a possibility to add citations for synonyms, vernacular names and taxonomic position as well.
