Expusia cappuccino, sp. nov. Description Shell small, fusiform (W/H 0.44, A/H 0.47), thick-walled, with stout siphonal canal. Protoconch dark brown, broken, late whorls glossy, unsculptured; protoconch-teleoconch transition clear-cut Teleoconch of 6 gently convex whorls. Suture impressed, with narrow, but distinct, subsutural ramp. Axial sculpture of wide, rather low, rounded, orthocline ribs, 10 on last whorl, vanishing on before aperture lip, and 15 on penultimate whorl. On last whorl, ribs weakening and vanishing entirely on shell base. Spiral sculpture of very fine regular threads in interspaces between axials, well pronounced on spire whorls and adapical portion of last whorl, but indistinct on shell base. Microsculpture of very closely set fine growth lines. Siphonal canal straight, robust, with well-developed fasciole, demarcated from shell base by one strong oblique rounded cord confluent with uppermost columellar fold. Fasciole with 4-5 additional low, poorly discemible cords. Aperture elongated, with shallow siphonal notch; parietal callous pad indistinct. Outer lip constricted towards base of siphonal canal, smooth, with 15 fine lire, deepened in aperture. Inner lip with 42 strongly developed callus, bearing four columellar folds, adapicalmost strongest, subsequent gradually diminishing Inner lip forming a reflected margin extending from uppermost columellar fold to base of siphonal canal, with narrow pseudoumbilicus. Background color light to dark brown with irregular large white blotches on spire whorls and adapical portion of last whorl; shell base dark brown, tip of canal white; crests of some ribs with a pattern of very fine brown zigzags. Radula unknown.
Etymology The species epithet refers to the popular type of coffee, in reference to the shell coloration, with mixed white and various shades of brown. Distribution Known only from the type locality. Remarks Eupusia cappuccino sp. nov. is closest to E. semicostata (Anton, 1838) and E. klytios (H. Turner, 2008) in shell size, proportion and sculpture, but differs from both in white color of siphonal canal. Furthermore, the shell is slightly broader than that in E. semicostata, and has a characteristic fine pattern of zigzag lines, absent in E. semicostata , whereas there is a distinctive subsutural band on teleoconch whorls of E. semicostata which is lacking in E. cappuccino. The axial ribs on the spire of the new species are more numerous than in E. klytios , and the color pattern is less regular, lacking an uninterrupted white band on the periphery of the last whorl.
