This taxon is actually a member of the family Noasauridae, and not Abelisauridae.

There is no entry for the family Noasauridae in this database, therefore it should be added and Masiakasaurus should be transferred there.

The authority that described the family Noasauridae is Bonaparte & Powell, 1980
