According to Ungulate Taxonomy by Colin P. Groves and the late Peter Grubb (2011), this taxon is actually considered a full/distinct species and not a subspecies of Cervus wallichi and should, therefore, be listed as Cervus macneilli. Is there a way that we can change this listing in the database?
