It is quite possible that it really is Monopterus cuchia. On the other hand, Faruque Miah at al. in Molecular Identification and Sexual Differentiation of Freshwater Mud Eel, Monopterus cuchia (Universal Journal of Agricultural Research 1(3): 54-58, 2013) indicate that proper identification of this species may not be that easy.
