Např. Botany.cz uvádí i český název tohoto druhu - borovice Hartwegova - viz: http://botany.cz/cs/pinus-hartwegii/. Druh nazván na počest německého botanika a cestovatele K. T. Hartwega (1812-1871), který druh v roce 1838 objevil. I. Novák
