Description

It is a shell roundish in form but a little bit equilateral, valves not much convex, with sculpture made by regular close concentric striae. The young shells are more roundish and they can be confused with Arculus sykesi (Chaster, 1895) which, however, has a really different hinge: indeed in sulcatulum it is present a "hook like" tooth placed anteriorly in both the valves. The average measures reach 1.5 mm in diametre.

Distribution

Habitat: it prefers detrital bottoms in low depth, but it was found living on coralline algae in very low waters too. Distribution: common all over the Mediterranean.
