Ringicula propinquans is characterized by 1) broadly oval shell attaining 5 mm in height. 2) protoconch small, of 1.25 smooth whorls, the tip prominent. 3) spire conical, rather elevated and pointed; whorls convex, meeting at adpressed su-tures, 4) body whorl globose, 77% of total height. 5) aperture high, narrow adapically. widening abapically, crescent-shaped to reverse-comma-shaped; outer lip markedly thickened, with broad and prominent outer varix and with blunt, median inner tooth; inner lip with thick, broad callus bearing a parietal ridge and 3 strong folds. 2 parallel, prominent and markedly ascending at the abapical end of columella. I less prominent and less oblique at the abapical end of the parietal ridge, 6) outer surface with shallow, rather distant spiral grooves that are missing from the adapical part of whorls; very fine and dense growth lines occur throughout.
