Type (OD) M. bollonsi Mestayer, 1930 (Synonym Awarua Mestayer, 1930) Shell rather large for the Heliacus group,
up to 16.5 mm. in width, discoidal, spire slightly sunken, base widely and deeply excavated and periphery distantly biangulate. Sutures channelled and bordered on each side by granulate spiral cords. Similar granulate cords at both peripheral angles, and also within the umbilicus, but most of the dorsal surface is devoid of spirals.
A related species is the New South Wales Omalaxis meridionalis Hedley, 1903.
