Oval, inflated, umbones near (but not at) anterior end, fragile, translucent green, pink, or yellow, occasionally with darker zigzag bands, with radial ribs that are absent from a trigonal area at center of valve, margin denticulate, hinge finely dentate. North Carolina to Florida, Bermuda, Bahamas, West Indies, Gulf of Mexico, Caribbean Central America, South America (Colombia, Venezuela, Brazil). Length 5 mm (to 12 mm).
