Description

Shell small, delicate, only feebly calcified and consisting principally of the thin pale yellow to light brown periostracum. Exteriorly with obscure, fine ribs. Length to 20 mm.

Distribution

Monterey, California (36.7°N) [CAS, LACM], to Bahía Banderas, Jalisco, México (20.5°N) [LACM], including the Golfo de California. The species is an active burrower in fine sediments from the intertidal zone to 360 m.
