tetrodotoxin

= fugu toxin
TTX
A toxin found in the liver and ovaries of the Fugu or puffer fish (order Tetraodontiformes, from which the toxin derives its name).
It is a specific, reversible blocker of voltage-gated sodium channels. The LD50 in mice is 80 mikrog/kg. It does not blok potassium or chloride channels.
