Shell large, solid, broadly-fusiform, sometimes almost oval, consists of 7.5 convex, moderately or quickly growing whorls, which are divided by a deep pressed, sometimes channeled sutura. The profile of whorl usually equally convex or concave between the sutura and shoulder keel. Spiral sculpture consists of very thin, curved, sometimes vague riblets, which are present on the all shell surface; and 6-10 rounded, slightly raised secondary ribs on the base and siphon. Also, there are one keel on the shoulder whorls, which can be distinct, indistinct or absent. In specimens with distinct keel may be supplementary small indistinct keel at the sutura. Aperture is wide, occupies about 1/2-6/10 of the shell height, white or light-yellowish. Inner lip is covered with thin grayish or yellowish callus. Shell is covered with thin, velvet, peeling olive periostracum, which form very short bristles.
