Size

Height 101 mm, width 53 mm.

Description

Shell large, elongate-fusiform, moderately thick, solid, consists of 7,5-8 moderately convex whorls, separated by a deep channeled sutura. The body whorl occupies some less or about 1/2 of the shell height. Spiral sculpture consists of strong T-shaped cords (6-8 on the body whorl, 4-5 on the penultimate whorl). Interspaces are equal or narrower than the cords. All the shell surface is covered by fine spiral striation, Aperture is rounded wide, white occupies some less than 1/3 of the shell height. Outer lip is thick, with projection, which corresponds to spiral cords. Siphon is short, wide, turned to the left and backward. Periostracum is rather thin, smooth, greenish-brownish or greenish-gray. Color of shell white or gray.

Distribution

From the Okhotsk Sea to Hokkaido, at depth of 800-900 meters. Uncommon.
