Size

Height 79 mm, Width 45 mm.

Description

Shell moderately large, solid, consists of 6.5 rounded, convex whorls, separated by a channeled sutura. The body whorl is convex, occupies 0.76 of the shell height. Spiral sculpture consists of thin, curved triangular-shaped riblets, which are present on the all shell surface. Also, there are one-three weakly ribs on the shoulder whorl. Aperture is moderately wide, occupies 5/10 of the shell height, oval, white. Inner lip is covered with thick white callus. Siphon is very wide, slightly elongated, curved to the left. Color of shell under periostracum is light-brown or bedge. Periostracum is thin, yellowish-brownish, or dark-brown, form short bristles. Operculum is irregular-oval, solid, dark-brown.

Interchangeable taxa

Slightly resembles an A. (C.) uritai, differs from later in present of triangular-shaped ribs in the base of shell.

Distribution

From the southern part of the Okhotsk Sea to Northern Japan, at depth of 150-170 m. Rare.
