Any of about 30 derivates of 2-(2-isopropyl-5-methylphenyl)-5-pentylresorcinol found in the Indian hemp, Cannabis sativa, amng which are those responsible for narcotic actions of the plant and its extracts. The most important cannabinoids are cannabidiol, cannabinol, tetrahydrocannabinols and tetrahydrocannabinolic acid.
